How do I start this project? I guess by jumping right in...
A little bit over a year ago I came to the idea of wanting to write a blog. I was pretty ambitious, perhaps too ambitious for my well being, as I wanted to start a YouTube channel alongside a blog.
I had rough ideas that needed a lot of work. For instance: I wanted to write (and film) about my cycling adventures, I wanted to speak of my love of astronomy, I wanted to share things I crafted, among other things.
I view myself as a generalist, as I have many interest, but many people in the YouTube game / business recommend that one should focus on a "niche".
Then life got in the way. I was laid off my full-time job, as a staff software engineer, and it took me nearly a full year to get another one as an external contractor.
